Awesome Information! June 30

Between Friends and the Pitchfork Music Festival
Between Friends is spearheading an awareness raising campaign on behalf of the violence against women community in Chicago at the upcoming Pitchfork Music Festival! We're going to pass out thousands of hand fans to concertgoers as they walk into the fest. The fans will provide folks with a statement to hopefully get them discussing the issue as well as some resources available in Chicago.

Please help us out with this effort by telling people about the fundraising campaign to get the fans printed (http://www.indiegogo.com/Help-end-violence-against-women) and please let me know if you are interested in helping us pass out the fans outside the gates of the festival sometime during the weekend of July 15-17.

Suicide is preventable, yet it is the 3rd leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 10-24. The Jason Foundation is committed to educating school personnel, parents, law enforcement, youth and anyone working with youth to be aware of the signs and symptoms. Riveredge Hospital is privileged to host a Jason Foundation office.
This is an introductory training and is designed for those working with youth whom do not have a clinical background. The purpose of this training is to equip the attendee with the information and resources needed to identify possible signs of concerns in youth which may indicate a need for further assessment.

Broadway Armory and Youth Services
Alderman Osterman of the 48th Ward has connected to the Department of Family and Support Services in regards to a developing project to use space within the Broadway Armory for youth programs and services. He has asked DFSS to help seek youth-serving organizations who might be interested in connecting to this opportunity.

If this seems like something your agency might be interested in, you should contact me as soon as possible so that I can inform DFSS of the agencies who would like to connect to this opportunity.

Please email me at dklein@centeronhalsted.org as soon as possible if you are interested.
